Electronic Arts VR Headset Is Set To Revolutionize Virtual Reality Gaming Across The Globe
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (April 1, 2024) – Electronic Arts (EA) announced the global launch of the latest innovation in virtual reality technology – the EA VR headset. With a lightweight and ergonomic build, ultra-low latency, and the golden standard for enhanced tracking, EA VR was designed for gamers looking to immerse themselves in a truly unforgettable gaming experience that revolutionizes how we play. The EA VR headset will be available for purchase on June 3, 2024, at the recommended retail price of $349.99 / $399.99 / £319.99 / ¥52,950.
The EA VR is compatible with nearly 2 billion PCs already inside consumers’ homes, arriving with a lineup of 50 games, many of which are fan favorite brands including “EA SPORTS FC 24,” “Madden NFL 24,” “Star Wars: Jedi Survivor,” and many more in the process of becoming compatible with the VR experience. By the end of this year, EA VR will have a library of approximately 100 games.
“I have not shared this level of enthusiasm to deliver such a unique gaming experience to players across the globe,” said Andrew Wilson, CEO at Electronic Arts. “With our commitment to guarantee a positive play experience, and leveraging all the potential avenues that could help us do so, we believe the EA VR headset will set a new standard for immersive gameplay.”
EA VR delivers a unique sense of presence with their virtual surroundings, giving players the center-stage feeling. By leveraging state-of-the-art technologies to provide high refresh rates, unparalleled tracking technology, an integrated 3D audio system, and a lightweight, ergonomic build, players are transported into new worlds with a stunning sense of realism and immersion.
With more than 20 different studios under the EA Brands – EA Sports and EA Entertainment – and dozens of partners through the EA Partners, the system’s game portfolio will continue to grow after launch as we intend to double the size of the games library at release.
Players looking to get their hands on the EA VR headset before buying it will have a special opportunity to play test them at the EA Booth at the DreamHack Festival in Dallas between May 31, 2024, and June 2, 2024. Reservations for the EA VR play tests at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center will be available on April 21, 2024. Guests will be required to confirm attendance for the festival with proof of ticket purchase.
“Getting an opportunity to showcase the future of VR gaming at a festival like DreamHack Dallas is an honor we are very grateful for,” said Guy Blomberg, DreamHack Event Director for the Americas. “With the loss of major gaming conventions where products of this nature are displayed, we knew how important it was to give fans – both new and old – an opportunity to experience that exhibition of awesome gaming power.”
